Program Description:
As practitioners, we understand that self-care is very important for our overall functioning, however, we sometimes do not prioritize it. This 1-hour lunch and learn session is meant to assist providers by discussing ways to prioritize self-care by using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) elements of mindfulness, values, acceptance and defusion techniques on their own. This will also assist in improved understanding of the elements to assist our clients. Therefore, this course can be both an introductory course or a brief review of ACT elements.
Level of Instruction:
Introductory
Learning Objectives:
1. Participants will be able to describe the definitions for values and defusion and how they related to self-care
2. Participants will be able to identify a simple mindfulness practice that can be implemented regularly
