NHPA Statement on Charlottesville Tragedy

The New Hampshire Psychological Association Board of Directors and NHPA community offer our sincerest condolences to the families and communities experiencing loss and trauma as a result of the violence that occurred in Charlottesville, VA this weekend. NHPA condemns acts of violence of all kinds especially those rooted in bigotry, racism, divisiveness, and hatred. The racist, anti-semitic, and anti GLBTQ attitudes expressed by demonstrators in Charlottesville are in direct opposition to the commitment of all psychologists to advocate for, support, and improve the lives of all individuals. These acts engender feelings of trauma and vulnerability in all of our community members. NHPA is committed to ongoing efforts to heal our communities through embracing our diversity.
