I have been a member of NHPA since I moved to the state and began practicing in New Hampshire in the mid-1980s. I have been on the board of directors for five years, including most of two years as treasurer. I joined the board in order to try to help improve the lot of psychologists in the state and I have stayed on the board because of all the wonderful people I have met and worked with, both on the board and among the general membership. It has been an honor to be in a position of leadership among so many fine professionals in the state. I would encourage people to give it a try!

I came to NHPA because I believe that small groups can make big changes, especially in a state like New Hampshire. In my work, I see the effects of public policy, health care, poor understanding of mental health, and scarce funding result in bad outcomes. I am bolstered by the efforts of groups like NHPA to counteract these forces and positively impact individuals with mental illness.
